ServerThis is one of the most common questions I get about my work. The question is how much of my work is about carpentry. The answer is quite a bit, but not all. You see, I’m a carpenter. I make a living at it.
As a general rule, carpenters are really good at carpentry. Most of the carpentry I do is actually done by my dad. I had a job once that took me two weeks to do, but that was a really bad carpentry job. So I started out doing it myself.
You see, I’m not a metal worker. I don’t do any of that. I don’t cut nails. I don’t use chisels. I never use anything other than my hands. I never, ever drill, saw, or sand anything, and I’m not even that good at sanding. I’m just a good craftsman in a lot of ways. But I love carpentry.
Carpenters, for good reason. They know how to build up a piece of wood into a solid structure. They know how to work with wood. They know how to create a finished work of art. They can apply their craft to anything they build. They can even do it on their own. So in many ways I think carpentry is like magic.
My most favorite of the three is that it’s all really pretty. I’m not fond of it, but I don’t think I’ll ever see it. It’s a bit of a pain, but it’s a nice, sweet piece of wood.
